Key Features

• Shape – Directional with 8mm Taper
  A directional shape with 8mm of taper gives the Research better float in powder, smoother turn initiation and stronger drive through freeride turns. It is PUBLIC’s most directional board, but still keeps some of the brand’s freestyle DNA for a more lively, less locked-in feel.
• Profile – Mountain Alert Camber
  Mountain Alert Camber is a directional version of PUBLIC’s Alert Camber, built with a mostly camber profile for edge hold, control and pop. Early rise in the tip and tail helps with turn entry, with a more exaggerated rise in the nose for extra float in softer snow.
• Flex – Medium-Stiff
  A medium-stiff flex gives the Research the support needed for freeride turns, faster riding and variable snow, while still keeping enough energy and playfulness for side hits and all-mountain creativity.

CAMBER PROFILE: Mountain Alert Camber

A directional version of their tried and true Alert Camber, that is built around a majority camber profile for edge hold, control, and pop. The top and tail feature early rise with the tip being slightly more exaggerated for increased float in powder and ease of entry into turns.

Tech Features

• Poplar Light Core
  PUBLIC’s premium poplar-based core uses lightweight paulownia through the core to reduce weight while keeping a snappy ride feel. Hardwood strips under the bindings add strength and improve insert retention.
• Tip-to-Tail Carbon Stringer
  A 20mm carbon fibre stringer runs from tip to tail to increase pop and response without adding weight or making the board feel overly torsionally stiff.
• Carbon V
  Carbon stringers are placed in a V pattern in the tip and tail to increase response from the bindings to the contact points, giving the Research more snap out of turns and stronger overall pop.
• Biax Glass
  A biaxial fibreglass layup gives the board a smooth, consistent flex from tip to tail, keeping it predictable and nimble underfoot.
• Sintered Base
  A fast, durable sintered base with strong wax absorption and abrasion resistance, giving the Research better glide and long-term speed when properly maintained.
• Urethane Sidewalls
  Urethane sidewalls add dampening and impact resistance, helping protect the board against rocks, rails and harder backcountry or resort impacts.
