BALLISTYX WORKSHOP

Speed is your friend, and freshly serviced equipment runs faster, grips better and feels more predictable underfoot. Ballistyx offers professional ski and snowboard waxing, edge tuning and base repair using Wintersteiger workshop equipment, backed by more than 30 years of hands-on experience.

Every ski and snowboard is assessed before we start, and no bookings are required for servicing. We check the condition of the base, edges and overall construction, then service it according to what the equipment actually needs. That could mean a straightforward hot wax, sharpening tired edges, filling base damage or bringing a heavily used setup back to life before the next trip.

We are a snowboard shop, but we can also work on your skis. The prices below apply per piece of equipment, skis and snowboards alike. A pair of skis is treated as one piece of equipment.

Workshop Pricing

Wax Service: $25
A proper hot-iron wax using an all-temperature workshop wax to condition and protect the base. The wax is fully scraped and brushed so the equipment is ready to ride.

Wax & Edge Tune: $50
A hot wax plus an edge tune to sharpen worn edges, remove rust and clean up minor burrs and damage.

Full Service Including Repair: $100
A complete wax and edge tune with standard base repair work included.

Large core shots, extensive damage and structural repairs may require an additional quote after inspection.

Epoxy & Structural Repairs

We also carry out epoxy repairs for ski and snowboard damage, including:

  • Topsheet peels
  • Delamination
  • Edge compressions
  • Split or damaged construction
  • Other repairable structural damage

Every epoxy job is different. Pricing and turnaround will be quoted after one of our workshop technicians has inspected the equipment in person. Some repairs require several stages of preparation, clamping, curing and finishing, so structural work cannot be accurately quoted without seeing the damage first.

Binding Setup

For snowboards, we can help with binding mounting, stance setup, adjustment and small tweaks to get your setup feeling right.

That includes adjusting stance width, centring your boots, changing binding angles, swapping bindings between boards and helping with general setup questions.

We can also assist with rudimentary ski binding setup and minor adjustments where appropriate. Major ski binding work, including mounting, remounting or significant position changes, is best handled by a ski-specific workshop with the correct jigs and release-testing equipment for that binding system.

Unsure about your setup? Bring it in and one of our workshop technicians can take a look.

Turnaround Times

During peak winter season, standard workshop turnaround is generally 4–7 days. Timing can vary depending on workshop volume, equipment condition and the repair work required, so it is worth bringing your gear in well before a trip.

Need it back urgently? An Express Service fee of $15 per piece of equipment can be added where workshop capacity allows.

Express waxes can usually be completed on the spot in approximately 30–60 minutes. Express edge tunes, base repairs, epoxy work and larger workshop jobs will be inspected and quoted for turnaround when the equipment is dropped off.

During winter, the Ballistyx workshop and store are open late on Thursday and Friday, giving you more time to drop equipment off or collect it before a mountain trip.

Bring your skis or snowboard into Ballistyx and one of our workshop technicians will assess the equipment properly before the job begins.
