Arbor Terrapin Snowboard – A Modern Classic Reimagined for the Deepest Days

The Arbor Terrapin PFD is a surf-inspired powder board built for riders who want deep float, playful control, and tight-line precision when the snow stacks up. Updated with Arbor’s Powder Floatation Device (PFD) shaping, the new Terrapin blends a System Rocker profile with subtle 3D shaping in the nose and tail for smoother transitions, easier turns, and more consistent float in deep conditions.

The short, wide, heavily tapered shape gives it a loose, flowing feel through trees and tight terrain, while the refined swallowtail and aggressive tail slot help maintain edge control when the slope steepens. Quick, surfy, and designed to ride shorter than your regular board, the Terrapin PFD is pure deep-day creativity without sacrificing control.

Built sustainably and designed for soulful powder riding, the Terrapin PFD captures the spirit of classic snow surfing with the performance to match today’s lines.

Key Features

  • Shape – Directional Tapered
A heavily tapered directional shape gives the Terrapin PFD strong float, easy turn initiation and a loose, surf-inspired feel in deep snow. The aggressive tail slot adds more edge-able contact through powder and tight trees, helping the board stay controlled when the snow gets deep and technical.
  • Profile – System Rocker with Flat Tail
Arbor’s directional System Rocker profile gives the Terrapin PFD smooth float and a catch-free feel through soft snow, while the longer flattened section under the back foot adds on-demand power and control when carving or finishing turns.
  • Flex – 5–6/10
A medium flex gives the Terrapin PFD enough support for powder lines and resort carving, while keeping it playful, manoeuvrable and easy to slash through softer snow.

Tech Features

  • Highland II Core
Arbor’s lightweight Highland II Core uses poplar and paulownia to reduce weight while keeping the board strong, lively and responsive underfoot.
  • 3D PFD Fenders
Redesigned 3D shaping through the nose helps the board roll smoothly from edge to edge, improving float, turn initiation and control through deep or variable snow.
  • 3D Boat-Hull Centreline
A boat-hull-like centreline through the nose improves powder float and helps the board cut smoothly through softer snow without feeling catchy.
  • Aggressive Tail Slot
The slotted tail adds more usable edge contact in deep snow and tight terrain, giving the Terrapin PFD extra control and precision when riding powder, trees and technical natural lines.
  • Mixed Glassing
A blend of biaxial and triaxial fibreglass gives the board a balance of torsional forgiveness, response and stability for powder, resort and variable snow.
  • Sintered Base
A fast, durable base that holds wax well and delivers strong glide when properly maintained.
  • Real Wood Powerply
Arbor’s signature real wood topsheet adds a natural finish and reduces reliance on synthetic topsheet materials.
  • Grip Tech 1.25mm
Additional contact points underfoot extend 1.25mm beyond the sidecut, adding subtle edge hold and control without overpowering the board’s loose, surfy powder feel.
  • Bio-Plastic Topsheet
A topsheet made with bio-based material to reduce reliance on traditional petroleum-based plastics while keeping the finish durable.
  • Bio-Resin
Arbor’s bio-based resin system reduces petroleum content while maintaining strong bonding and board durability.
  • 360ΒΊ Fully Wrapped Sidewalls
Full perimeter sidewall construction improves durability and helps protect the board through regular resort and powder use.
  • Recycled Steel Edges
Durable steel edges made with recycled content, giving the board reliable edge hold while reducing material impact.
  • Wend Natural Wax
Factory-applied natural wax gives the board glide straight out of the wrapper.
  • Factory Tuned
Arbor detunes the tip and tail at the factory for a smoother, more forgiving feel from day one.
  • 2x4 12-Pack Inserts
A standard 2x4 insert layout with 12 insert positions for stance adjustment and reliable binding compatibility.
