The Velvet is the choice of Gnu team riders who approach the whole mountain like their park. Itโs snappy flex and hybrid C2 contour work in synergy for pop and stability. It features intuitive geometry, and Magne-Tractionยฎ, so it is catch-free and responsive. The eco sublimated plant-based graphics give this ride a down to earth vibe.
The Velvet is comfortable in any conditions and as balanced in the park as it is in banked slaloms or street sessions. Design conceptualized by Naima Antolin and designed by Hannah Eddy.

Key Features
-
Shape โ Twin
A true twin shape gives the Velvet the same feel riding regular or switch, making it well suited to freestyle progression, park laps and playful all-mountain riding. -
Profile โ C2 Hybrid Camber
C2 blends rocker between the feet with camber underfoot, giving the Velvet a forgiving, easy-to-pivot feel with enough pop, edge control and stability for riding across the resort. -
Flex โ 4.5/10
A soft-to-medium flex keeps the Velvet pressable, playful and easy to manoeuvre, while still offering enough backbone for confident turns, side hits and freestyle progression.
Tech Features
-
G Lite 2 Core
An FSC certified aspen and paulownia wood core that keeps the board light, lively and durable. Aspen adds strength and pop, while paulownia helps reduce weight for easier handling. -
Tri-Ax / Bi-Ax Glass
A blended fibreglass layup that adds strength, pop and torsional control while keeping the Velvet smooth and manageable underfoot. -
Eco Sublimated Sintered Base
A fast, durable sintered base that absorbs wax well for longer-lasting glide and better speed when properly maintained. -
Eco Sublimated Poly Topsheet
A durable topsheet made using a lower-waste sublimation process, helping reduce environmental impact while keeping the boardโs finish tough. -
UHMW Sidewalls
Ultra-high molecular weight sidewalls add impact resistance and durability, helping protect the board through park use, resort riding and everyday knocks. -
Magne-Tractionยฎ
GNUโs serrated edge technology adds extra contact points along the sidecut, giving the Velvet stronger grip and more confidence on hardpack, ice and scraped-out resort snow.

About GNU
Handmade near Canada (in the USA) since 1977, GNU Snowboards has always done things differentlyโbecause snowboarding should be fun, creative, and a little weird. Together with their sister company Lib Tech, they pioneered rockered snowboard profiles with Banana Technology, revolutionizing the sport with a more playful, floaty, and forgiving ride. They also introduced Magne-Tractionยฎ serrated edges for unreal grip and continue to push boundaries with progressive shapes, experimental tech, and sustainable materials. Every GNU board is built by real snowboarders, keeping the brandโs rebellious spirit alive in every turn, slash, and send.
