The 2027 Jones Freecarver 6000s is a carving board built for riders who want precision and response without needing the wide-open terrain or outright speed of its bigger sibling. Where the Freecarver 9000 is designed for huge, high-speed arcs, the 6000s tightens everything up, smaller sidecut radius, slightly softer flex and a more reactive feel that suits tighter turns, lower speeds and smaller mountains. It’s still very much a dedicated carving board, just one that’s easier to access and more versatile in everyday resort conditions.
On snow, the 6000s feels quick, energetic and highly responsive edge to edge. The full Positive camber profile keeps the board locked in with strong edge hold and plenty of rebound, but the 6/10 flex and biax glass give it a slightly more forgiving, more manoeuvrable character compared to the 9000. It wants to roll into turns quickly and link tighter carves rather than hold long drawn-out lines. The Directional shape, Power Core and Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer keep the board lively and stable when you push it, while the Medium 3D Contour Base and Dual-Radius Flip Tip help smooth out transitions and keep the ride fluid. If the 9000 is about maximum speed and scale, the 6000s is about control, rhythm and carving everything in sight.
