Learn Groundtricks Before the Snow Season Starts
You’ve probably seen it already.
Riders on flat ground making it look effortless — presses, spins, and control that messes with how you think a snowboard should move.
Groundtricks, or gratori, has been blowing up online and steadily emerging from a small corner of snowboarding into something much bigger.
We’d been watching what Jet was building through his sessions and content, and it made sense to get behind it and bring it into the store.
This bootcamp is designed to help riders build the foundations properly before taking those movements onto snow.
What Is Gratori?
Gratori (グラトリ) is shorthand Japanese snowboard slang combining “ground” and “trick”.
At its core, it’s a style of flat-ground snowboard riding focused on:
- Presses
- Spins
- Edge control
- Flow
- Board manipulation
“At a high level, it almost looks like dancing on snow.”
Unlike traditional park riding, groundtricks can be broken down into smaller progressions that can be developed in a more controlled and repeatable way.
Why Off-Snow Groundtrick Training Works
One of the biggest misconceptions around groundtricks is that progression only happens on snow.
“A lot of the core components of groundtricks — balance, body positioning, and coordination — can be developed much more efficiently off snow.”
Training off snow gives riders a controlled environment to:
- Repeat movements more efficiently
- Build balance and coordination
- Understand technique before getting on snow
- Develop confidence before the season starts
With winter around the corner, this is a chance to get your riding legs back while building control and learning some new techniques.

Small group coaching also means riders will have the opportunity to film clips, ask questions throughout the program, and progress in a much more controlled environment.
