Ballistyx Is Evolving

A New Chapter Begins

Greetings everyone, I’m Andy T, coming to you from the belly of the beast of the east. Ballistyx in Ringwood.

If you’re reading this in-store or you’ve just scanned a QR code from the window, welcome. You’re in the right place.

Alright, here’s the big news.

After more than three decades as a Ringwood institution, Ballistyx is moving premises. The roots are staying with us. This is Ballistyx growing into its next era.

We've Been Around a While. We're Not Going Far.

Ballistyx has called Ringwood home since 1992. For a lot of riders this shop has been more than just somewhere to buy gear. It is where good times were had, video premieres were packed out, pro riders rolled through, and friendships were built that have lasted decades.

We have partied, skated, argued about snowboard graphics, watched edits on repeat, and laughed our way through four different Ringwood shop locations since the early days.

There have been big seasons and tough ones, but through all of it we have stayed loyal to the culture that built this place.

Ringwood has been good to us. Very good.

The good news is we are not going far.

But after a lot of thinking, planning, and a few late night shop conversations, we are proud to say:

We Are Moving to Boronia

Welcome to the Beast of Boronia

A new corner. A new energy. Same Ballistyx bite.

Why the Move?

Some of you might have noticed things shifting at Ballistyx over the past 18 to 24 months. We have been rolling up our sleeves, digging our heels in, and putting the work in to bring Ballistyx back to the front of boardsports in Melbourne.

The move to Boronia is a big part of that.

The new location gives us better parking, more natural light, a strong corner presence, and a space that we can properly shape into the kind of shop we have always wanted Ballistyx to be.

Most importantly, it lets us level up the Ballistyx experience. How the shop feels when you walk in. How the gear is presented. How easy it is to hang out, talk boards, get advice from the crew, or just watch the latest snowboard video rolling on the big screens.

We already have the keys and the new shop is being built right now. Walls are moving, shelves are being planned, and a lot of thought is going into making sure the new space still feels unmistakably Ballistyx. Just sharper, cleaner, and ready for the next chapter.

What Does This Mean for You?

Here is how the move will work.

  • We will continue trading at our Ringwood store until Sunday, March 29, 2026
  • We will then close briefly while we move everything across to Boronia
  • Ballistyx Boronia will open to the public on Tuesday, April 7, 2026

Online never sleeps. The Ballistyx online store stays open 24 hours a day during the move, so you can still grab gear whenever you need.

You will also see updates popping up here as the build progresses. We have posters in the windows at both locations with QR codes linking back to this page so everyone can keep up with what is happening.

You may notice the Ringwood shop slowly drifting into what could politely be described as "character mode" over the next few weeks. As we get ready for the move we are recycling parts of the old Ballistyx infrastructure into the new Boronia shop. Shelving, fixtures, and a few well travelled pieces of shop history are getting a second life.

So if things look a little rough around the edges for a bit, that is just the shop packing its bags.

A quick workshop note as well. The tuning workshop is now closed for full tunes while we prepare for the move. We can still help with a wax or an edge and wax if you need a quick refresh before heading to the hill.

Same Crew. Same Values. New Space.

The move does not change who we are.

Ballistyx is still rider owned, still fiercely independent, and still here to look after the Ballistyx Family. The same crew will be here. The same standards. The same straight up advice.

What changes is the space we get to do it in.

Boronia gives us room to breathe, room to grow, and room to keep doing what we love. Properly.

Alongside the move you will also start seeing a few new things rolling out that we have been working on behind the scenes. The Ballistyx management crew has been planning carefully, and now it is time to start putting those plans into action.

We hope you are keen to come along for the ride.

Thank You, Ringwood

Leaving Ringwood is not easy. Thirty plus years is a long time for any shop to call a place home.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has walked through our doors since 1992. Riders, families, crew members, suppliers, and friends. You helped shape Ballistyx into what it is today.

This next chapter is built on that history.

We cannot wait to welcome you into the new shop very soon.

Same heart. New home.

On a personal note, I am genuinely stoked about this move. I cannot wait to get the doors open in Boronia and welcome everyone into the new space. It has been a big journey getting here and I am excited to start rolling out some of the things we have been toiling away on behind the scenes.

When the doors open, come down and check out the new shop. Say g’day to the crew, have a look around, and help us kick off the next era of Ballistyx.

Ballistyx is not dead. Long live Ballistyx.
