Special Blend, Forum and Foursquare are pleased to announce the Australian premieres of their latest feature film F' It, starring John Jackson, Stevie Bell, Nic Sauve, Jake Welch, Niko Cioffi, Cameron Pierce, Austen Sweetin and The Youngbloods, and co-starring Peter Line, Pat Moore, Andreas Wiig and Daniel Ek.
Instead of dishing out the usual dose of marketing bullshit about how great the movie is and what to expect, here are some quotes on the film straight from the riders' mouths:
"With Pat out of the picture, I might actually have a shot at getting the opener!"
"Nic has such nice hair, I wonder if he is sponsored by Suave?"
"Peter's so legendary, he doesn't even need a part."
"How did John manage to have a better season than last year?!?"
"You think Andreas looks good when he's filming? You should see how good he looks when he isn't."
"Who the F is Austen Sweetin?"

Even with some of the biggest rainfalls we have seen for a while, the mountains are still carrying a s*#t load of snow. Buller is at 96cm, Falls Creek over 130cm, Perisher 180cm and even Baw Baw has got over 1/2 a meter. Over the weekend we saw torrential rain, mud slides and flooding that has dominated our TV screens, what you probably did not see was the snow that fell across the resorts.
With even more snow on the way, the best conditions we have had in years will keep the mountains open until well into October. Sun + Plenty of Snow = Fabulous Spring Snowboarding. Enjoy...

Grab the cheapest prices on snowboard gear you will find anywhere. Don't ask me how or why but it happens. People with all the right intentions put down deposits on snowboards to Lay-By them with us. Even after we extend it for weeks, call them, write to them and text them to come in and finalize everything, we get nothing. We end up having to cancel the Lay-By, deposited money and all. How would you like to use that deposited money and put it towards a new snowboard for yourself. This weekend we are putting all our forgotten Lay-By's, deposits and all, up for grabs. Remember Lay-By's are always the good boards everyone wants. The sizes are limited and are sure to go quick so get in to knab the ultimate discount...while stock lasts!
Crafted for park dominating performance in the Honeypot, Combo Platter features the same pop, edge grip, and stable landing platform as camber, combined with the forgiving and playful ride of rocker. Combo Platter ends the camber vs. rocker debate forever. This completely new profile has unique platters running along each edge just under your feet. By lifting the edges up off the snow in those key areas, the board has a less catchy feel for butters, jibs and spins, but still maintains smooth grip and control when you put it on edge. This profile is rounded out by a powerful nose and tail for big takeoffs and stomped landings. The ultimate combination.

Dylan Rieder. You may know him from every single photo that's ever been taken of him in greyscale, either skateboarding or smoking a cigarette with a moody look on his face. From what I've seen, he's fairly proficient at both. This is a movie about the former from director Greg Hunt and Gravis.

Taken from Australian & New Zealand Snowboard Mag
One thing about Mt Buller is that it is close to the city, full of fashion and wanna-be gangsta snowboarders, but saying this, the mountain is sick if they get the snow, and lately it has been coming down in buckets. Buller has far better terrain than Falls Creek, but the Falls park, what can you say?
Buller is really stepping it up in the park stakes this year and it looks like the grooming department is working hard to build nice kickers and features. The pipe shouldn't be far off and there are some sweet kickers on Summit at around 45 feet with a nice big take off. It looks like three are being built and there is an awesome rail line with a new feature called 'Frank the Tank', which is a HUGE gas tank, a FYVE / Obvious whale tail or can be called a rainbow kicker box and a whole heap of other features. The also have a nice medium size kicker built on the Skyline park.
Stu Lakeland
Stu Lakeland is running the show these days and doing it well. So Stu, how many park areas does Buller have this year and what are they?
This year we have 3 Terrain Parks, a half pipe, and a boarder/skier cross course. We're aiming to cater for all levels of park rider with our Koflers Park being filled with small to medium sized rails, boxes and jumps. The Skyline park has medium to extra large boxes, rails and bonks, and medium to large jumps. The Summit park consists of large to extra large jumps.
What features have you got rocking and what is to come this season?
In the Koflers park we have a number of surface level rails and boxes along with some small jumps.
In the Skyline park we medium, large and XL lines filled with flat boxes, down bars, up bars, kinks, and one of our new features... Frank the Tank!
We have been fortunate enough to be donated two new boxes this year. Fyve and Obviouse have kindly donated a 'Whale Tail' box which is a great addition to the park. The boys at Decoy have donated a 'bugle' box, which is a flaired flat box with each side tapering to become banked C's.

Troy Jordan from Ballistyx BMX answered a few questions about his new BMX website, www.ballistyxbmx.com.au that has just launched over the last few days. Have a read...
Why did you want to have a separate BMX specific website?
We wanted a core site that was BMX dedicated. Something easy to navigate and really focusing on BMX products and product information.
What was the inspiration behind the site?
You were my inspiration...no kidding. We have so much great product at great prices we wanted to be able to share what we do in the shop with everyone.
What do you want to accomplish with the site, what are your goals?
We are really keen to put back into the BMX scene. More comps, sponsored riders, better info you know all the things people talk about but never do. The site is there as a hub to get all this news and info out to you all.
How does the blog work?
At this stage we are just getting going with the blog. Blog's are so important, especially with the BMX community everyone is hungry for as much info as possible. We are trying to include as much local content as possible as well as anything we think is cool from OS and of course anyone is welcome to comment.
Are your Team Riders getting involved with the site?
I am encouraging all my people to post their edits, video's and opinions for that matter.
What are some of the features of Ballistyx BMX?
The site is pretty much a no nonsense site at the end of the day. It was built to bring what we do so well in store to the outside world. We have tried to focus keeping it simple and provide as much info as possible whether it be product related or just with what's happening in the scene.
Anything else you want people to know?
Just check out www.ballistyxbmx.com.au and remember it is early days. It will be a couple of weeks until I get it right where I want it, but things are happening and we dig it.
Thanx Jordie, now put your pants back on!
Ballistyx set a record for outerwear sales last week...but who can argue when it is just $99! back to topWhat an August! We said it would be a late season, but a great one. The prediction is living up to even our lofty expectations. The snow just continues to fall with another 40cm (that's right 40cm peoples) falling this week, putting pretty much all mountains way over the Meter mark.
Ralph from Forum, who was up at Buller on the weekend, said, 'Conditions are perfect and the fact that the whole mountain is open, packed with people and I have only had to wait in lift lines for like a minute all day just makes it even better.' The vibe rang true from everyone we spoke too. Rob Stagg from The Ballistyx Snow Show, who were up at Mt Buller filming for the series on GO! said, 'What is crazy is the amount of people I speak to in Melbourne who are like, 'Oh is there snow this year?'. 'Everyone on Saturday thought that this is the best they have seen in a very long time.'
If you have not yet realized just how good it is up there and have not been up...the time is now. With snow falling all the way into September, the 2010 snow season and it's brilliant conditions are waiting. Do not miss out! Tune your board, grab your jacket and see you there. If you are looking for an excuse check out this Mint Tours/Mt Buller Deal coming up.

back to topSome of the world's best snowboarding talent has just checked in for Australia's premier snowboarding event, Stylewars, hosted at Falls Creek, Victoria.
Due to kick off tomorrow morning, riders have arrived and have been welcomed with some of the best snowfall that the Australian 2010 season has seen. And upon inspecting the park, the response is that the riders are thrilled and just can't wait to hit it.
The park is even bigger and better than last year, and features two huge jumps (a 70-foot step-down and an 85-foot gap jump), a giant snow butter-box and an up-and-over pyramid wall-ride.
Stylewars has been an integral part of the prestigious TTR World Snowboard Tour for eight years, bringing to Australia a dynamic mix of young, fresh talent to compete with the biggest names in snowboarding from around the globe.
This year will be no exception, with an astounding five world-class international riders under the age of 19, each with a real chance of being crowned Stylewars Grand Master.
2010 welcomes TTR's current World Number One, Gjermund Braaten (NOR). Competing in Australia for the very first time, TTR Head Judge Mel Simmons says, "There's a lot of contention this year, but he's definitely one to look out for."
A fast mover-and-shaker through the TTR ranks, 16-year-old Braaten will be battling it out with headlining rider 17-year-old Sebastien Toutant (CAN). After making history at Stylewars last year, 'Seb Toots' is back again to blow the minds of spectators for another year, and stern on defending his Grand Master title.
Also visiting Australia for the first time are major Grand Master title contenders: recent FIS gold medallist, 16-year-old Mark McMorris (CAN), 16-year-old Tor Lundstrom (SWE), and 18-year old Kevin Backstrom (SWE).
In addition, Falls Creek welcomes international riders from Austria, USA, and New Zealand, as well as Aussies, including world-renowned Ryan Tiene, and young guns Chris De Campo and Jye Kearney.
To officially declare Stylewars open, the launch party will be held tonight featuring Aussie rockers Calling All Cars. A snowboarding festival notorious for back-to-back world-class snowboarding and entertainment, Stylewars 2010 is set to rock Falls Creek for the next three days and four-nights to come.

I think every site has showed this but it is so gnarly. You have all seen the Jake Brown MegaRamp shoe explosion video, this is not as crazy but still pretty horrible. Check the clip from SkateDaily.

We think that you should not have to wait until the end of the season to get the prices you want. At the end of the season you are forced to buy all the stuff no one else has wanted and that's why it is on sale. At Ballistyx you might as well get end of the season deals on snowboard gear now so you can actually use them. Our members took advantage of the insane bargains last weekend, picking up hundreds of pieces of outerwear, tons of boards, boots, goggles...everything for sometimes below cost price. Because of this success and the vibe of the shop on the weekend, we have just purchased a massive shipment of gear from all the best suppliers with the intention and price tags to clear it all out. Some of these deals will not and cannot be repeated, see you this weekend!!!

The intro song is enough for me. Check the latest clip from The Berrics and remember Street League kicks off in little over a week and is set to change skate comps as we know it.
Skate & Create is a brilliant idea sending your favorite skate brands up against each other in a comp based on skill but mostly creativity. Check out the Fallen guys below and CLICK HERE for more S&C
Watch this footy of the Red Bull Performance Camp on Day 2 over in NZ....the standard has been set!! Make sure you get over there if you can. The boys here just got back and had a blast, you must do SnowPark, hands down the highlight.
